Night Time Routine: Toddler and a Baby

I am a stay at home mom with my 2 year old and my 10 month old. With my husbands schedule right now I usually do this routine with the kids by myself. Sometimes, I have help from my brother. Most nights it goes pretty smooth but some nights one or both of the kids are fussy and not as cooperative which makes for a more stressful night for me. But, that is just what comes with motherhood.
So...here is what our Night Time Routine looks like...
We eat dinner around 5-5:30. This night I did quinoa macaroni noodles with half red pasta sauce and half alfredo sauce and ground beef mixed in. The kids loved it! Right after they are done eating I wipe down their hands and face and start cleaning up from dinner. The kids love to play together and be silly while I do the dishes. I love watching them play together, it is the cutest thing!
Sometimes I clean as I go while I am making dinner and it doesn't take me that long to clean up. Tonight, I didn't do that so it took me a little longer then usual and I couldn't finish cleaning the kitchen because the kids started to get too fussy and I needed to get them in the bath. I finished the few dishes that were left and wiped down the counters and table once the kids were in bed. Cleaning time can be a challenge because Annabelle loves to "help" me with the dishes. I pick her up and put her down by her toys and encourage Joshua to play with her and he usually does.
Now, it's time to clean up around the house and get the kids in the bath! At this time, I'll close the blinds and turn all the bright lights off around the house and just make the house dim and cozy. Once everything is cleaned up, the kids get into the bath. Sometimes I give both kids a bath at the same time depending on the mood they are in. It's easier for me to give Annabelle a bath and have Joshua play for a few more minutes then put him in the bath while Annabelle plays in Joshua's room. After the bath, its time to put jammies on and get ready to read books.
Depending on the night, Patrick will get home in time to read books or he will be home shortly after I put them down. This night, Patrick was home just in time. The kids love when he gets home and they get so excited to see him! Usually Patrick will hop in the shower and eat dinner as soon as he gets home but he wanted to say goodnight to the kids before they went to sleep.
Now that the kids are in bed I finished the last few dishes and wiped down the table and counters. My favorite part of the night is seeing a clean and dimly lit home. It relaxes my body and gets me ready for bed.
The last part of night time routine is me getting ready for bed. Make up off, jammies on and relax! Sometimes I will make some tea to drink while I get ready for bed. For my skin care routine I always start with removing my make up with the Philosophy Purity Make Up Wipes. Then I wash and moisturize with First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, Vitamin Hydrating Mist, Eye Cream and Moisturizer. For my night time serum, I LOVE the Acure Seriously Firming Serum. I usually get it at Target but I think they discontinued this specific product. When I run out of this, I plan on purchasing their Night Oil Serum. Most nights I shower first then do this routine but on this day I had showered in the morning so I just needed to wash my face. Thats pretty much it for my everyday night time routine.
I hope you Enjoyed seeing my Night Time Routine!
